Ok I found a 5.7 with 4L60E trans and the ecm out of a 95 suberban I started it and it runs good. My question is should I try to save the wiring harness or look for a new one? I didn't have much luck finding one from painless last night on the net maybe you guys have some advice. Thanks

Check the Internet - there are some places that will redo the harness remove unwanted - unneeded components and reflash the ECM - using only the needed components - like allowing the use of one O2 Sensor - Modifing shift points, EGR operation, ECT.

i had this done when I worked for shop here in town - we put a 4.3 into a toyota. Also a 5.7 swap into a jeep.

I will try to find out where it can be done.

Yes yes yes...... get every bit of wiring from the engine compartment, dash, Engine ecu on the kick panel and the trans computer behind the glovebox. also salvage the entire emission system, and as much fuel line and connectors as you can,, I just did a 4.6 efi conversion and spent alot of time searching for little fittings and small parts I would have been done a month ago if i had of thought about that stuff. It is done now and is awsome. good luck. and if you need some help with wiring let me know,I have all the yj diagrams

The '95 should be the TBI system, not the MPI Vortec, which was introduced in '96. The TBI system runs at a lower fuel pressure and it overall easier to work with (less wiring). If you have the time and knowledge you are much better off pulling the harness from the doaner, especially with the electronically controlled 4L60E. Otherwise go to affordable fuel injection and get a harness (much cheaper than Painless)

I've got a TBI 350 I want to put into the TJ, and I've done some research on it. Here are some places that offer parts
